Box office: Avengers Endgame continues its dream run on its first Monday

Hollywood superhero film Avengers: Endgame continued its phenomenal run on its first Monday too. also. Starring Chris Evans, Brie Larson, Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Josh Brolin, Tom Holland and others, the film collected Rs31 crore yesterday, as per figures shared by Boxofficeindia.com.
The film had opened with an explosive Rs53.50 crore on Friday. This was followed by Rs52 crore and Rs53.50 crore on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The film’s grand total currently stands at a mammoth Rs190 crore in just four days.
Avengers: Endgame had become the third highest weekend grosser in India by beating Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju (2018), the biopic on actor Sanjay Dutt. The first and second positions are held by SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017, all languages) and Shankar’s 2.0 (2018, all languages), which made Rs383.87 crore and Rs190.32 crore respectively in their first weekends.
Interestingly, now there is not a single Hindi language film in the first three positions in the list. This also speaks volumes about the craze for the Marvel franchise.
Avengers: Endgame is expected to earn well even on the remaining weekdays.
This week saw the release of the Hindi film Tarpan - The Salvation, which has expectedly gone unnoticed.
