Actors Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani have kicked off the shoot for the remake of the Tamil horror comedy, Kanchana. Titled Laaxmi Bomb, the film will be directed by Raghava Lawrence, the director of the original.
The director shared pictures of the actors joining him on set to begin the shoot of the film.
The film is an official remake of the horror comedy, Kanchana 2 (2015). The horror comedy proved to be a surprise hit down south. The story revolves around a man who is scared of stepping out of his house, being taken over by the ghost of a wronged woman.
The project arrives on the second week of the release of the franchise's fourth film, Muni 4, which was released on 19 April.
Laaxmi Bomb will mark the third of Akshay's upcoming projects, with the actor a part of the Kareena Kapoor Khan-starrer, Good News, as well as Housefull 4 and Mission Mangal. In addition, the actor is also part of a web-series for Amazon Prime Video, backed by Abundantia Entertainment.
Advani was last seen in the multi-starrer Kalank (2019), directed by Abhishek Varman. The actress will also be a part of the upcoming Kabir Singh, opposite Shahid Kapoor.
