Riding on the back of Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019), Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies is set to produce one of India's first short-form animated digital series. The series format will reportedly be based on the hit American TV show, The Simpsons.

IndianExpress.com quoted Screwvala as saying, "I have always been inspired by [the late Indian animation pioneer] Ram Mohan and [renowned cartoonist] RK Laxman, by the voice they stood for and still stand for in our society. Our goal here is to create an innovative and disruptive voice within the digital landscape."

The series will be based on the adventures of four anthropomorphic vigilantes in a post-apocalyptic world ruled by animals.

This will be the first such animated series produced by RSVP Movies that has so far focused on feature films. The series will be aired on the YouTube digital platform.

In addition to RSVP Movies, the untitled series will also be produced by Supari Studios. The project is expected to go on the floors in May this year.

This is the latest project from Screwvala's stable to make the news after the announcement of his reunion with Aditya Dhar and Vicky Kaushal on a film based on the story of Ashwathama.
