Akshay Kumar to team up with Katrina Kaif after 9 years in Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi 

After their last appearance together in Tees Maar Khan (2010), Katrina Kaif is set to team up with Akshay Kumar again in Rohit Shetty's upcoming, Sooryavanshi. The film is a part of the growing franchise which follows Simmba (2018). 

The makers made the announcement on Monday with a picture of the director standing alongside his two lead artistes, and producer Karan Johar. 

'Welcome to our COP UNIVERSE' wrote Akshay Kumar on his Instagram post. 

The actor has shared a good run with Kaif in films like Namastey London (2007), Singh Is Kinng (2008) and Tees Maar Khan (2010). The latter was the last time the duo worked together in the leading roles. 

Sooryavanshi is a spin-off of the 2018 hit, Simmba, which featured Ranveer Singh. The film also saw Akshay Kumar make a special appearance in the role of his character, Sooryavanshi. 

The film also marks Kaif's first collaboration with Shetty. Kaif is also part of Salman Khan's upcoming Bharat, which will be out on Eid, 5 June. Sooryavanshi is due to be released on Eid 2020.
