Sivakarthikeyan’s Mr Local, which also features Nayanthara as the leading lady, is one of the big Tamil releases of this summer. Directed by M Rajesh, the film is a romantic comedy produced by Studio Green.

As the film gears up for release next month, reports emerged that five popular Tamil actors might be seen playing cameo roles in Mr Local.

It was reported that actors Karthi, Jiiva, Arya, Udhayanidhi Stalin, and GV Prakash Kumar would be making special appearances in the film.

The official spokesperson of the movie has now denied the news.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Mr Local, which was originally scheduled for release on 1 May, has been postponed by two weeks.

The reason for the postponement is unknown as yet. However, reliable sources in the trade have confirmed the postponement.

Mr Local is believed to be inspired by Rajinikanth’s Mannan (1992), which featured Vijayashanti in a role quite similar to what Nayanthara plays in this film.

The film, which also stars Radhika, Yogi Babu, Sathish, and Suman, has music by Hip-Hop Tamizha. It has been produced by Studio Green, which has joined hands with Siva for the first time.

Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan is currently shooting for his science-fiction film with Ramkumar. The yet-untitled project also stars Rakul Preet Singh as an astronomer.

Siva has two more projects in his kitty which will take off in the next few months. He has a film titled Hero with director PS Mithran and a yet-untitled project with director Pandiraj.
