Saand Ki Aankh first look: Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pednekar are ageing sharpshooters

Actresses Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar are ready to hit their targets in the first look of Tushar Hiranandani's Saand Ki Aankh (2019), which will be in theatres this Diwali, 25 October.
Pannu and Pednekar play the roles of sisters-in-law Chandro and Prakashi Tomar who took up sharpshooting in the their 60s and became champions. Chandro and Prakashi have been nicknamed Shooter Dadi and Revolver Dadi, respectively.
The first poster shows the duo in their village, dressed in a long shirt and ghagra with a pallu (veil) on their heads. They are displaying their guns proudly. The tagline says,'Tann budha hota hai, mann budha nai hota [The body ages, not the mind]'.
Another poster states: "They broke out of their cage... at 60 they rose above their age... with 700 medals they became a rage..."
Prosthetic make-up is used to show the actresses as elderly women, but they are easily recognisable. We wonder if it would have been better to use actresses in their 60s as the Tomars in the film. It's not as though we don't have actresses of calibre around.
Produced by Anurag Kashyap, Nidhi Parmar and Reliance Entertainment, Saand Ki Aankh also stars filmmaker Prakash Jha and actor Vineet Kumar Singh.
The film is Hiranandani's directorial debut. He has previously written the screenplays of Ek Villain (2014) and Half Girlfriend (2017).
