Best known for working together in Telugu films such as Athadu (2005) and Khaleja (2010), superstar Mahesh Babu and filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas have reunited for a new project. However, it’s not for a film, but for a commercial ad shoot.

On Thursday, Mahesh Babu took to Twitter and wrote: “Back with my favourite. Love the experience.”

Mahesh Babu didn’t write if he was shooting for an ad, and this gave fans an opportunity to speculate that this reunion could be for a film. His publicist later confirmed via a statement that the duo had joined hands for an ad shoot.

Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu currently awaits the release of his 25th film Maharshi, directed by Vamshi Paidipally.

Maharshi, which was originally scheduled to release on 25 April, has been postponed by two weeks, according to its makers. In a press meet last month, producer Dil Raju announced that the film will now release on 9 May.

The reason for postponement, according to producer Raju, is the post-production process which is taking more time than expected.

The film, which has music by Devi Sri Prasad, also stars Pooja Hedge and Allari Naresh in important roles.

Recently, Mahesh Babu announced he has decided to opt out of his next project with Sukumar, following creative differences.

Mahesh Babu said in a tweet that he will always respect him as a filmmaker par excellence.

“Due to creative differences, my film with Sukumar is not happening. I wish him all the best on the announcement of his new project. Respect always for a filmmaker par excellence. 1: Nenokkadine will remain as a cult classic. Enjoyed every moment working on that film,” he tweeted.

The industry grapevine is that Mahesh will next join hands with director Anil Ravipudi of F2 fame. The regular shoot of this project will commence from May or June.
