Several stars from the Tamil and Telugu film industries joined scores of others in hailing the Supreme Court verdict that decriminalises homosexuality.
Actor Siddharth was among the first to express his joy at the verdict. He took to Twitter to pen his thoughts on the judgment.
He said, "Thank you Honourable #SupremeCourt for showing once again that you are the protector of ALL of our people. Love and wishes to all my Indian #LGBT family. What a wonderful day! Be you. Be true! To each individual who fought for this day, #Respect Bye #Section377 Jai Hind!"
He went on to cite an observation of one of the judges in the case.
Quoting Justice Chandrachud, who had said, "It is difficult to right a wrong by history. But we can set the course for the future. This case involves much more than decriminalizing homosexuality. It is about people wanting to live with dignity."
