With several actors and industry personalities turning authors, the latest in the list is composer Bappi Lahiri. The composer of Disco Dancer (1982) has now published a book on his poems and compositions dedicated to communal unity. The book, titled We Are One World: Peace, Love and Harmony, is likely to be published in the US, UK and Canada.

Speaking to Mumbai Mirror, a tabloid, the composer said, "I’ve been working on it for the last five years. I always wanted to do something for humanity, spread the message of love propagated by my Sharaabi (1984) chartbuster 'De De Pyaar De'. I’m really excited."

The composer cited the late Mother Teresa as one of his inspirations behind the book and promised that he would also build a school for slum children post the success of the book.

Currently based in Los Angeles, Lahiri also said that he would put his poems to tune and post them on YouTube after he returns to India. "I’ve already released one on YouTube and will start composing the rest once I return to India."
