Actor Dhanush has already begun work on his second, yet-untitled, project as director with Aditi Rao Hydari, SJ Suryah, Nagarjuna and Sarath Kumar. The film, a bilingual in Tamil and Telugu, will reportedly be set in the pre-independence era and is currently being shot in the Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu.
Dhanush who made his debut as director with Pa Paandi (2017) last year, will also be playing a key role in the film. While Rajinikanth, Dhanush's father-in-law, was expected to play a role in the film, he has now been replaced by Telugu actor Nagarjuna.
The film, produced by Sri Thenandal Films, went on floors on 6 September.

In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, a tabloid, Hydari said, "I almost collaborated with Dhanush on a project earlier, but it didn’t materialise because of date issues. Now, I am happy that I’m doing a big film with him."
2018 has been a busy year for Dhanush with the actor awaiting the release of Vetrimaaran's Vada Chennai, as well as the international project, The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir. The actor will also be seen in Gautham Menon's Ennai Nokki Paayum Thotta later this year.
Dhanush has also finished shooting Maari 2, however, the film's production team is still to finalise a release date.
