After Lalit Modi, Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi, news of another businessman, Nitin Sandesara, fleeing India after committing a loan scam has shaken the country.

As Saif Ali Khan’s next film Baazaar is based on share market scams, the actor was asked at the trailer launch if he would like to share his views on the growing number of scams.

The actor agreed to speak on the issue and criticized the scamsters, but he also blamed the media for ‘blaming’ celebrities.

He said, “Of course. I think it’s horrible, terrible. We want less corruption. We want less scams. We are in a very honest line of work. We try and make films. We try and sell films. Most of the times, the press is catching movie stars to make examples. You should catch these guys.”

Elaborating, the actor said, “We are nothing. We are small-town people. The big game is happening somewhere else. We don’t even know what the game is. People say this one did this, this one did that, and the public is happy. Some celebrities are like dustbins. We are happy with that; we need people to blame. But the real people should be blamed. They are sitting on your money!”

Directed by Gauravv K Chawla, Baazaar also stars Radhika Apte, Chitrangda Singh and Rohan Mehra.
