The filmmaker also defended the film starring Salman Khan and Anil Kapoor.

Director Remo D’Souza’s Race 3, which was released earlier this year, became one of the most trolled films. The content and the twists in the story were the reasons the film became the butt of jokes. It featured Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah and Saqib Saleem.
Now, D’Souza himself has agreed that the films had a lot of flaws. While talking to the media for his dance-based TV show, he said, “Entertainment-wise we had great action, songs, 3D, etc. People loved the action, but then suddenly trolling started. The action was done by people who are masters in action. Story wise I agree there were glitches.”
However, he also said that films more worse than Race 3 have done well in the past. “I have seen worse films becoming a hit,” said D’Souza. “If it was a disaster then it wouldn't have done Rs180 crore business and Rs300 crore worldwide. I am still trying to come to terms to it and concentrating on my next film,” he added.
D’Souza clarified further, “At the same time, I think whatever responsibility had been given to me, I tried to do my level best to make that film better and I did everything as per my capability. The entire team of the film worked hard but I also think audience is the major deciding factor who determines success or failure of the film.”
He also revealed that they had to make changes as they can’t show Khan’s character in a grey zone. “When Shiraz Ahmed wrote the script it had the grey [shades] role. The Race franchise is about grey characters but we can't show Salman in grey character and other things were also happening. Because of all that. It just went little...[sic],” he said.
The choreographer-turned-filmmaker confirmed that his dance film with Khan would happen later. “I spoke to him two days ago. We both are busy with our respective projects. I will take time and make this film. It’s a beautiful script. It was this film that I first wanted to do with Salman but Race 3 happened,” he said.
