Maaza Agadbam trailer: Trupti Bhoir plays two obese characters

The trailer of Maaza Agadbam is anything but funny. Naajuka and Maajha’s antics range from too silly to irritating.

Maaza Agadbam is the sequel to Trupti Bhoir’s Agadbam (2010). The first film told the story of a man (Makarand Anaspure) being forced to marry an obese woman (Bhoir). The sequel of the film will see the actress play the same character in a different story.

Naajuka (Bhoir), an obese woman, is married to a simple man (Subodh Bhave). Her size regularly gets her into trouble and her husband is at the receiving end. Her mother-in-law (Usha Nadkarni) despises her because of her appearance.

Meanwhile, an obese wrestler named Maajha (Bhoir) has acquired fame for defeating her opponents in her unique style. She always hides half of her face. Naajuka’s husband and mother-in-law believe that Naajuka and Maajha are the same person.

To put it simply, the trailer of Maza Agadbam is anything but funny. Naajuka and Maajha’s antics range from too silly to irritating. Such content overshadows Bhoir’s dedication and painstaking efforts to play a plus-sized woman.

Bhave appears decent in a unique madcap comedy. Although Nadkarni is getting stereotyped, her comic timing is still refreshing.

Directed by Bhoir herself, Maaza Agadbam will be released on 26 October.
