Actor Sidharth Malhotra is reuniting with his Hasee Toh Phasee (2014) co-star Parineeti Chopra for Prashant Singh’s directorial debut Jabariya Jodi. Actor Jaaved Jaaferi has now been roped in to play Malhotra's father in the film.

Given how Jaaferi still looks fit and young at 54, it will be interesting to see how he looks as the father to Malhotra, who is 33. Jaaferi, though, won't be playing an ordinary father.

“My character in the film is that of a bad-ass gangster from Bihar. It's a very interesting, real, raw and fun character which adds a great dimension to the story,” Jaaferi said.

Over the last two decades, Jaaferi has kept a relatively low profile in the film industry, as he found bigger success on television. Jaaferi was last seen in Kadar Kashmiri's Aman Ke Farishtey (2016).

Set in Bihar, Jabariya Jodi, focuses on the kidnapping of grooms. Malhotra plays the leading goon, while Chopra will be seen as his childhood friend.

Jabariya Jodi is produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures.
