Dabangg 3 to go on floors in February or March 2019, says Arbaaz Khan

The producer has revealed that the cast is locked, and the script is almost locked with the pre-production work set to begin soon.

Dabangg 3 goes will go on the floors by February or March-end 2019, confirmed producer Arbaaz Khan.

Speaking to reporters at a promotional event for his film Jack & Dill last evening, Arbaaz was asked about the status of Dabangg 3.

“The script is almost locked, and so is the cast, technicians. We will soon finalise the track too. Pre-production work – production design will begin. We will search for locations. After all this is done, then we are hoping to begin the principal shooting by February or March-end next year,” Arbaaz told reporters. The makers are targeting a 2019-end release date.

The films feature Arbaaz's brother Salman Khan in the lead role as cop Chulbul Pandey. Salman will return with Dabanng 3, and so will Sonakshi Sinha as Rajjo.

Arbaaz has acted in and produced the previous films in the franchise — Dabangg (2010) and Dabangg 2 (2012). He even directed the second film after original director Abhinav Kashyap opted out. The third instalment will see Prabhu Deva as director.

While he may not direct the third film, Khan underlined that he will be involved in a creative capacity. Speaking to, Arbaaz said, “I have got out of the director's seat, but it is not as if I will not be involved in the creative aspect. I  have been part of it [franchise] from the first [film] right till how many series we will do. We have a fresh person helming the affairs. He has his own ideas, and his own vision. It is going to be an amalgamation and kind of process where everybody is going to contribute."
