A tragic or emotionally gripping tale is always hard to digest. So, mentally prepare yourself before you decide to watch Pihu. Journalist-turned-filmmaker Vinod Kapri’s film is based on a true incident of a two-year-old girl left alone in the house.

The teaser was out early this year, in which we saw a little child stepping inside a refrigerator. Pihu's (Myra Vishwakarma) life is at risk after she is left alone in the house. Her mother is seen lying motionless on the bed. Is she ill and unconscious? Or has she been murdered? There are many possibilities. Prerna Sharma plays the mother. What worries the viewer is the state of Pihu.

Kapri cuts an emotionally riveting trailer, with the film promising plenty of moments that will see your heart in your mouth. It’s the dangerous predicament that Pihu finds herself in is what drives the film.

The little child burns her roti in a microwave, she somehow figures to switch on the gas knob, that lead leads to an explosion. The most heart-stopping moment is when the child accidentally drops her doll from the window and then climbs on to the grill. As a viewer, you pray for her safety. The film promises many such scary moments.

The dangerous plight of Pihu is enough to draw you to this film. Kapri carves a chilling and intense trailer.

In 2017, we saw Vikramaditya Motwane’s Trapped that had Rajkummar Rao locked in a house. However, Pihu is just two-years-old and the film totally hinges on her little shoulders.

Pihu was the opening film in the Indian Panorama Section at the 48th International Film Festival of India. The film has travelled to various other festivals too. The film is produced by Roy Kapur Films and RSVP. Pihu will be in theatres on 16 November.
