Ranbir Kapoor to reunite with Deepika Padukone for director Luv Ranjan's film?
Mumbai - 24 Oct 2018 14:34 IST
Ranbir Kapoor has signed for director Luv Ranjan's next where he shares screen space with Ajay Devgn for the first time. Now buzz has it that Deepika Padukone could be paired opposite Kapoor, as reported by Bollywoodlife.com.
Kapoor and Padukone were in a relationship many years ago.
It was director-producer Karan Johar who dropped a hint that Padukone and Kapoor could come together on the screen again when he casually mentioned in his television chat show, Koffee With Karan that the duo would be part of a big budget film soon.
Bollywoodlife.com didn’t quote any person or source connected with the film, but merely stated that the film will be co-produced by Luv Ranjan’s Luv Films and T-Series, and that it has two heroes. News of Devgn and Kapoor being part of it was out before. Did the portal just go by Johar’s declaration on Koffee With Karan?
We spoke to a source who said that the female lead is not yet finalised. “No female lead has been locked yet. The shoot for this untitled project will begin around January next year,” said the source.
We tried contacting Ranjan, but there was no response.
Padukone is currently on a break professionally. She will marry fellow actor Ranveer Singh on 14-15 November. The location of the wedding has not been announced officially.
Buzz has it that post the wedding, the couple will have two wedding receptions – one in Padukone's hometown Bangalore and the second one in Mumbai, that is likely to take place on 1 December.
Padukone and Kapoor were last seen together in Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha (2015).
Padukone has given her nod to director Meghna Gulzar’s next in which she will play an acid attack survivor. This film is based on true story of Laxmi Agarwal. Padukone was expected to begin shooting for that film next, but if she signs for the Ranjan film, then it could push Gulzar's film.
