With Thugs Of Hindostan, actor-producer Aamir Khan's dream of starring with Amitabh Bachchan in a film has come true. There was more joy for Khan as he also got to dance with his idol.

Yash Raj Films released the first song from the film, titled 'Vashmalle', yesterday (16 October). The word Vashmalle and the general lyrics of the song is not easy to decipher. The meaning of the word was revealed today (17 October) when the song's making video was released. In the video, Khan informs that the word means 'celebration'.

However, this is not the first time this word has been used in a Hindi song. A quick search revealed that it was used in a song from Henna (1991), titled 'Vashe Malle'.

The film was to be directed by Raj Kapoor but after the great show man passed away in 1988, his son Randhir took up the reigns.

Henna was a romantic-drama based on the 'memory-loss' theme. On his wedding night, Chanderprakash meets with an accident, falls into a river and lands up in Pakistani side of Kashmir. The locals of the neighbouring country save his life, but the man has lost his memory. They embrace him believing him to be one of their own and Chander becomes Chaand. He subsequently falls in love with Henna (Zeba Bakhtiar), a native girl. As fate would have it, on another stormy wedding night, Chander regains his memory.

'Vashe Malle' song, written and composed by Ravindra Jain and sung by Mohammed Aziz, celebrates Chaand's marriage with Henna with the community members indulging in folk dance. Late actor Dilip Dhawan played one of Henna's brothers who sings and dances at her wedding. While the dance form is fun to watch, a little more agility from the actors would have made the song more enjoyable.

The song in Henna celebrated a wedding, and by the looks of it, the song in Thugs Of Hindostan celebrates the coming together of Khudabaksh (Amitabh Bachchan) and Firangi Mallah (Aamir Khan).

The music of Henna was one of the highlights of the film. The 'Vash Malle' song, perhaps, paled in comparison to the more memorable tracks from the album such as 'Bedardi Tere Pyar Ne', 'Anar Dana' and 'Main Hoon Khushrang Henna'.

Now, 27 years later, the Thugs Of Hindostan number has helped us revisit the forgotten 'Vash Malle' song from Henna.
