Dhappa was the first film Nipun Dharmadhikari made though Baapjanma (2017) is now considered his directorial debut.
MAMI 2018: Marathi films Dhappa, Ashleel Udyog Mitra Mandal, Photo Prem, Amaltash selected

The MAMI (Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image) film festival is set for kick-off later this month in Mumbai and the organizers have announced the line-up of Marathi films that would be screened at the weeklong festival.
These include Bhimrao Mude’s Bardo, Alok Rajwade’s Ashleel Udyog Mitra Mandal, Nipun Dharmadhikari’s Dhappa, Aditya Rathi and Gayatri Patil’s Photo Prem and Suhas Desale’s Amaltash.
Baapjanma (2017), starring Sachin Khedekar, is considered theatre director Dharmadhikari's debut feature film (2017). But the first film he directed was Dhappa. The film won the National award for Best Film on National Integration this year. The film has a group of children as the main cast.

Ashleel Udyog Mitra Mandal has Abhay Mahajan in the lead. The film also stars Parna Pethe. She is known for her work in Faster Fene (2017) and TCGN Take Care Good Night (2018). The last time Mahajan played the lead was in Gacchi (2017), which also starred Priya Bapat.
Bardo stars Makarand Deshpande, Anjali Patil, Ashok Samarth and Girish Pardeshi. This is Patil’s second Marathi film after The Silence (2017).
The MAMI festival is scheduled to take place from 25 October to 1 November 2018.
