Dev teaser: Karthi promises action-packed adventure

Following the runaway success of Kadaikutty Singam, Karthi’s next big release is Dev, to be directed by debutant Rajath Ravishankar. The teaser of the film was unveiled on Monday ahead of Diwali and going by the visuals it promises to be an action-packed adventure. Produced by Prince Pictures on a budget of Rs60 crore and co-starring Rakul Preet Singh, the film has music by Harris Jayaraj.
The teaser opens with fleeting shots of snow-capped mountains and skyscrapers. We hear Karthi’s voice and he says there are two ways to live life. The first way is to follow the opinion of others to try and survive in this competitive world with regrets. He says the second way to live life is to the fullest.
The teaser then cuts to shots of a room full of bikes. In the subsequent shots, we see Karthi riding a dirt bike, trekking on a mountain and flying in a hot-air balloon. We also get quick glimpse of the romance between Karthi and Singh. There are also shots of car chases and hand-to-hand combat scenes. In the last scene of the teaser, we see Karthi surrounded by a group of men and he tells them that he will free the girl from them and he’s confident about it.
The film also stars Prakash Raj and Ramya Krishna and it’s evident from the teaser that they play Karthi’s parents.
In September, the film’s crew got stranded in Kulu Manali, courtesy landslides and flash floods. The situation resulted in a loss of Rs1.5 crore, according to a statement released by the makers.
The film is gearing up for release this December in Tamil and Telugu. Recently, a crucial portion from the film was shot in Nepal in and around Mount Everest. According to reliable sources, a major stunt sequence was shot in this schedule.
