Kedarnath song 'Jaan Nisaar': Amit Trivedi delivers another wonderful ballad to love

Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, Kedarnath is set to be released in theatres on 7 December.

Shriram Iyengar

The journey of love is never without its breaks. Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath is fraught with many such tensions, including those of religion and social norms.

Yet, the latest song from the film, 'Jaan Nisaar', focuses on the differences between the couple which separate them and the unbreakable bond which later brings them together.

Amit Trivedi delivers a wonderful ballad that manages to evoke the pathos and passion with equal sensitivity.

The song begins with the dialogue that underlines the religious and social tension that the film revolves around. Sushant Singh Rajput's Mansoor is in love with Mukku (Sara Ali Khan), a pandit's daughter. While the two are in love, the realization of the gulf in class and difference in religion has led Mansoor to sacrifice his love. This is contrasted by the stubbornness of Mukku, who refuses to give up on him and pursues him constantly.

The song also displays a different perspective of Sara Ali Khan's character being the stronger and more resilient force of the two. The actress brings in the force of her personality and vulnerability to the fore to make an impact.

Rajput is quite effective as the conflicted Mansoor; conscious of both his plight and his love for Mukku.

Arijit Singh is tasked with the vocals and delivers emphatically. The singer manages to bring a sensitivity and feeling to the song through his voice alone. This is enhanced by Amit Trivedi's composition which is beautiful, to say the least. The soft rock-styled composition fits with the theme of the ballad. The solo guitar through the middle portion of the song is quite good too.

Amitabh Bhattacharya, who evokes the helplessness and pleading of a lover through his lyrics, has also delivered A-grade work.

Kedarnath is set to be released on 7 December. Watch the song below and let us know if you are looking forward to watch this film.
