Cinephiles warmed up to Amar Kaushik's horror-comedy Stree, starring Rajkumar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor and Aparshakti Khurana. The film was written and co-produced by the duo of Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, known as Raj & DK. Stree exceeded all expectations, earning well over Rs100 crore nett at the domestic box office.

Producer Dinesh Vijan, of Maddock Films, had earlier announced that they would be making a sequel too and director Kaushik had also informed us that Stree 2 would happen once the script is ready. While fans are keen, Stree 2 will have to wait as writer duo Raj & DK have their hands full with another project.

On the sidelines of ongoing 49th International Film Festival of India, Raj Nidimoru spoke exclusively with Cinestaan.com about their plans.

"There are plans to make Stree 2 but at the moment we are working on a different project. Once we complete that, we will then begin work on Stree 2.  We are super excited about the script and then we will make it," Nidimoru said.

With Stree 2 not beginning soon, is there a worry his artistes might take up other projects resulting in an issue with dates?

"No, not at all. In fact, the director and the actors are more than keen on the second film. They have been asking when we get going with the sequel. Dates is never going to be an issue with this cast," Nidimoru replied.

The writer refrained from speaking about their ongoing project, but earlier in November, it was announced that Raj & DK would be helming the Hind remake of Korean film A Hard Day (2014).
