Bhushan Patil to play lead in Marathi remake of Angamaly Diaries

Actor-dialogue writer Bhushan Patil has been roped in to play the lead in the Marathi remake of the hit Malayalam film Angamaly Diaries (2017).
According to an official statement from the makers, the film will be titled Kolhapur Diaries and will be directed by Joe Rajan. It is being presented by music composer-filmmaker-producer Avadhoot Gupte, who was also the presenter of Boyz (2017) and Boyz 2 (2018).
The makers have revealed the first look of Patil from the film. He can be seen shirtless, emerging from a river. It looks like the actor has worked a lot on his physique. As an actor, Kolhapur Diaries will be his third film after Olakh: My Identity (2015) and Bernie (2016).
Kolhapur Diaries will be Rajan’s first Marathi film as a director. He had earlier directed Hindi film Luv U Soniyo in 2013.
Angamaly Diaries was directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. The film starred Antony Varghese, whose character aims to rule the town of Angamaly by becoming the leader of a righteous gang. The film was appreciated by audiences and critics alike. The film is known for its iconic 11-minute-long single take climax scene. Angamaly Diaries is also a rare film to cast 86 first-time artistes.
