Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra shower wishes on newly married Ranveer-Deepika

The big wedding of the year is finally done as Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh tied the knot in Italy's scenic Lake Como island. However, the couple's strict orders of 'no photos or cellphones' ensured that there was little visual cues as to what took place at the wedding. However, late on 15 November, Singh and Padukone shared the images of their special day, prompting several celebrities on Twitter to shower them with wishes. 

Despite the strict embargo on social media at the wedding, Karan Johar did wish the couple on his Twitter handle on 14 November. 

The producer-director followed it up on 15 November with a lovely wish for the couple: 'Love and happiness forever.....these are such a full of pyaar wala pictures! For those of us who don’t have a life partner it’s a very “haiiiiiiiii” wala feeling!' 

Singh's closest friend, Arjun Kapoor, decided to keep it simple by calling the wedding 'a celebration of love' on his Twitter page. 

Mother to be Neha Dhupia also tweeted her wishes to the couple. 

Considering his last film was titled Badhaai Ho, it only seems apt that Ayushmann Khurrana was among the many from the industry who wished the couple. 

Anushka Sharma, who got married in December 2017, tweeted her joy at the wedding of close friends, Singh and Padukone. Sharma was Singh's co-star in his debut, Band Baaja Baraat (2010). 

The couple were wedded in the style of two traditions — Saraswat Chitrapur and later according to the Sindhi customs. Padukone wore Sabyasachi designed ensembles for the event, while Singh eschewed his usual vibrant colours for simple white and reds for the traditional ceremonies. 

Priyanka Chopra, who is set to marry American singer Nick Jonas in December this year, also took to Instagram to wish the couple. Congratulating the couple, she called them 'insanely beautiful' and 'stunning'. 

Thugs Of Hindostan (2018) star Katrina Kaif also took to Instagram to wish the couple. 'Congratulations to both of u' wrote the actress. 

Parineeti Chopra shared her wishes for her Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl (2011) co-star and Padukone calling them 'RV and Dips'

Ranveer Singh's Gully Boy co-star Alia Bhatt shared a picture of the couple on her Instagram page for a while, and commented on Padukone's post saying 'Congratulations you stunners'.

Bipasha Basu and Arjun Rampal also greeted the new couple with their wishes.

The newly-weds are expected to hold two receptions, one each in Bengaluru and Mumbai, on 21 and 28 November, respectively.
