Sonam Kapoor wedding: Bride and groom Anand Ahuja dress up for big mehndi ceremony

The lights at actor Anil Kapoor's residence have been up since last week, but the guests have now started pouring in. After celebrating a more private mehndi ceremony for the family on Sunday, 6 May, the actress, and her groom are preparing to celebrate a grander public ceremony today. 

The pictures of Anil, Janhvi Kapoor, Maheep Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor have already taken the social media by storm. But it is the bride-to-be who continues to steal the thunder. While Sonam has always been a fashionista, she has chosen a classy gold and white embroidered outfit for the ceremony. The groom, Anand Ahuja, was spotted wearing a matching white and gold sherwani.

The actress was dressed in a white and gold embroidered lehenga by Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla and has been styled by Anaita Shroff Adjania. But it is not just the bride and groom, the guests seem to carry the sense of fashion and style forward. 

Sonam's Veere Di Wedding co-star, Swara Bhasker, also showed off her Manish Malhotra designed outfit, as she prepared to attend the big celebrations. 

Sonam's cousin Janhvi also looked the part in the same shade of white and gold, with a matching necklace to flaunt. 

The family too turned up in style with dad Anil showing up the grooms side with a stylish white kurta, and a neatly trimmed beard. 

The celebrations began late on Saturday evening with the family, and close friends turning up for a private ceremony before the public event was held today at the Signature Island in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. 

While he chose a bright orange kurta for the event last evening, Arjun looks to have chosen a darker shade of black for the public event. 

From high profile friends like Karan Johar and Shilpa Shetty, to close family like Siddhanth Kapoor and Masaba Mantena, the ceremony will certainly see a fairly high flying attendance. 

The wedding is set to take place in the morning of 8 May at Rockdale bungalow in Bandra. The bungalow is the residence of the Sonam's aunt. The family will then hold a reception in the evening at The Leela hotel, Mumbai.
