Nawazuddin Siddiqui wields power in first Sacred Games teaser


Quick glimpses from the teaser show the dark underbelly of the city — the nightclubs, seedy dealings and the police force that is in pursuit of Siddiqui's Ganesh Gaitonde.

All eyes are on Netflix’s first original Indian series, Sacred Games, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Saif Ali Khan and Radhika Apte. The trio take on characters from the popular 2006 novel of the same name by Vikram Chandra.

The first teaser from the upcoming series which premieres on 6 July opens with Siddiqui’s character, the crime lord Ganesh Gaitonde starting a fire near a garbage heap and stating, “Sometimes, I think I am God.”  

Quick glimpses from the teaser show the dark underbelly of the city — the nightclubs, seedy dealings and the police force that is in pursuit of Gaitonde. Khan plays Sartaj Singh and Apte is Anjali Mathur.

The last shot of the teaser features a determined Sartaj Singh with the voiceover of Gaitonde asking, “Do you believe in God?”.

The eight episode series has been directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. They have also produced the series under their banner, Phantom Films.
