Priyanka Sarkar wins Best Actress award at 8th Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival

Actress Priyanka Sarkar won the Best Actress award at the 8th Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival, 2018 for her performance in Arnab Middya’s feature film Andarkahini: Self Exile (2017).
The film narrates stories of four female characters, all played by Sarkar, and their relationships with their father, brother, husband and friend. Soumitra Chatterjee, Sumit Samaddar, Sayani Ghosh, Rajesh Sharma and Prasun also play significant roles in the film.
The story delves into women’s constant struggle and survival in various circumstances. Interestingly, the director has retained the real names of the other characters in the film. The entire film has been shot in Bangladesh.
