An impending wedding, meeting possible grooms and dealing with the travails of everyday life, the girls of Veere Di Wedding — Kalindi, Avni, Sakshi and Meera try to rebel, in small ways, against the expectations of society in the song 'Laaj Sharam'.

The song is a situational number by alt rock band White Noise from Nagaland that has both, composed and written the lyrics. The rapper Enbee has also contributed to the rap in the beginning of the song. 'Laaj Sharam' talks about women fed up with being told what to do and wear. Sung by Jasleen Royal and Divya Kumar, the song highlights different situations wherein the characters, especially Kareena Kapoor Khan's Kalindi and Sonam Kapoor's Avni, feel trapped by society.

A few light moments from the song's picturisation show the four friends gearing up for Kalindi's big wedding day. But in between, they seek out moments of refuge, like grabbing a smoke in a bathroom stall while dressed to the nines.

'Laaj Sharam' is a easy listen, which is likely to grow on you over time. The unusual combination of Royal and Kumar's voice blends the modern and traditional in an interesting way.
