The Raazi actress downplays the rumours linking her to her Brahmastra co-actor.

Actress Alia Bhatt has been much appreciated for her performance in Raazi (2018). The film has been successful, bagging Rs60.75 crore nett at the box office. On a professional high, the actress is also rumoured to be dating her Brahmastra (2019) co-actor Ranbir Kapoor. The rumours gathered wind as the duo came together for Sonam Kapoor-Anand Ahuja’s wedding.
Ranbir was in Delhi few days ago, where NDTV.com had asked him about his equation with Bhatt and the actor had jokingly said that he had a boy crush on the actress.
In a separate interview, speaking to Mumbai Mirror, Bhatt said, "I’m happy that people are talking about my chemistry with Ranbir because we are doing a film together that comes out next year. (Laughs) And all these people who are talking about our chemistry better come and watch the film.”
As for Raazi, the girl expressed surprise that the film had got such a phenomenal response.
"To be honest, it surpassed my expectations. I had never imagined it to open the way it did. It has done so well that all of us are still a little confused. The numbers are not because of me but the content. Raazi is a powerful film and I felt it since the day I read the script. I’m fortunate I got to be a part of the film and to portray a character like Sehmat."
Raazi is a story of Kashmiri girl who operates as a spy in Pakistan after marrying a Pakistani soldier. Asked whether she had received a reaction from across the border, the actress said, "When a film of mine does really well, I go off social media because it’s not good for my ego. Everyone who has seen the film has told me it’s nice, that there are no villains. You don’t have to hate any country to be proud of yours. Humanity operates at a higher level.”
Bhatt will next be seen in Gully Boy that will be released during Valentine’s week next year.
