Arjunn Dutta's Abyakto promises poignant tale of mother and son


The film features Arpita Chatterjee, Adil Hussain, Anubhav Kanjilal and Anirban Ghosh in the lead roles.

Award-winning independent filmmaker Arjunn Dutta has announced the cast of his upcoming film Abyakto, a poignant tale on the relationship between a mother and son.

The film features Arpita Chatterjee, Adil Hussain, Anubhav Kanjilal and Anirban Ghosh in the lead roles.

Abyakto narrates the journey of Indra (Kanjilal) as he grows up from a child to a man. His mother Sathi (Chatterjee), father Kasushik (Ghosh) and his father’s friend and his favourite uncle Rudra (Hussain) play the most important roles in shaping his life as some inexplicable events take it to an unexpected course. Hence, Indra, to his surprise, finds himself to grown into a man he never dreamed of.

The story brings out various shades of the relationship among Sathi, Kaushik and Rudra in relation to Indra as they strive to explore their own identities amidst love, regret, sadness and loneliness in their lives. Through various time lapses, the film promises to capture the intricacies and the nuances of the complex storyline.

Kheya Chattopadhyay, Debjani Chatterjee, Lily Chakraborty, Pinky Banerjee and Samontak Maitra will also feature in important roles in the film.

The music of the film will be composed by Soumya Rit Nag and Joy Supratim will do the cinematography.

Dutta has earned both national and international accolades in festivals such as Festival De Cannes, Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival, Caleidoscope 2017, Boston, Kolkata Short Film Festival and Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival for his previous films, The 6th Element and Maid For Each Other.
