Adil Hussain wins best supporting actor at Norway Film Awards for What Will People Say

Actor Adil Hussain has been recognised for his performance in the Norwegian-Urdu film, What Will People Say (2017), directed by Iram Haq. He won the Kanon award for best supporting actor for his role as the conservative Pakistani father who relocates his teenage daughter back t their homeland as he fears she is becoming Westernised in Norway.
The Kanon awards are the highest film honours given in the Norwegian film industry. The actor announced the good news on Twitter.

What Will People Say also won awards for best director, best screenplay and best producer for Maria Ekerhovd. Haq won the Edith Calmar prize for her personal screenplay of her own experiences of being shipped off to a foreign country as she began to assimilate into the culture of Norway, the country where she was born and brought up.
Haq, too, shared a photo of herself with producer Ekerhovd and lead actress Mozhdah at the awards ceremony with a handful of awards.
The film was shown in India on 13 October 2017 at the 19th edition of the Mumbai Film Festival.
