Sachin Pilgaonkar and Swwapnil Joshi were seen together on the big screen in 2008 in Aamhi Satpute (2008), where the duo played siblings. The film was the official remake of the hit Hindi movie Satte Pe Satta (1982). Since then, the two actors have made an appearance together on television and were also seen at quite a few public events.

Sachin Pilgaonkar, along with wife and actress Supriya, presented the trailer of Joshi’s production Tula Kalnnaar Nahi (2017) last year. The veteran actor is also known for singing the track ‘Zindagi Zindagi’ in Joshi’s blockbuster Duniyadari (2013).

The duo are set to share the big screen again with Rakesh Sarang’s Ranangan, only this time they will play father and son. The teaser of the film was released today (9 March).

Going by the short video, Ranangan appears to be a political-family drama. However, it is badly edited. The makers have tried to include too many shots and too many flashy effects in the 36-second video. Hence, it is difficult to make out anything happening on the screen. The trailer will hopefully give a better idea.

That said, the teaser hints that Joshi will be seen playing a role akin to Lord Krishna of Mahabharata. One also gets a glimpse of Siddharth Chandekar, who starred in the recent hit Gulabjaam.

Ranangan, which was earlier titled Waaras, will be released on 11 May.
