Sanjay Dutt was shooting for Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 in Kolkata in January when he got a phone call from the Mumbai police. Now, this development would usually make us believe that the actor is in for some trouble. However, this time around the case is different.

The cop informed Dutt that one of his fans has willed him all her money after her death, Mumbai Mirror, a tabloid, reported.

Nishi Harishchandra Tripathi, 62, a resident from Mumbai’s Malabar Hill locality, passed away on 15 January after battling terminal illness. After her condolence meet was over, her family was made known of the contents of her will. They were shocked when they discovered a number of letters written by her to the bank asking them to transfer her belongings to Dutt after her death.

However, the actor has, through his lawyer, refused to accept anything from the will and said he will help in transferring everything back to the family members legally.

“We have communicated that Sanjay Dutt will be seeking no claim on the belongings and will adhere to any legal proceedings necessary to transfer the valuables back to the family,” his attorney Subhash Jadhav told the tabloid.

Reacting on the matter, Dutt said, “As actors, we are used to fans naming their children after us, chasing us down the street and even giving us gifts. But this has shocked me. I will not be claiming anything. I did not know Nishi and I am very overwhelmed by the entire incident to speak about it.”

Tripathi was a homemaker who stayed with her mother and two siblings at Triveni Apartments in Malabar Hill.
