Speaking about the film, Gupte said, “It is about the unsaid conversation between kids and parents. The film is an attempt at showcasing change in lifestyle, the hectic schedule of parents, expectations from children, constantly changing world, competition, changing mentalities of kids and parents and its good and bad effects on them.”

While citing reasons for casting Menon, he added, “I wanted an excellent actor with great personality and someone who would understand the subject and play it as effectively. I found him in the form of Menon. Not just the director, but also the writer in me was convinced with him. After meeting him my decision was reconfirmed and I locked his name.”
