Actor-turned-director Arindam Sil will soon begin shooting for his upcoming film, Balighawr. An Indo-Bangladesh venture, the film is based on Bengali author Suchitra Bhattacharya’s one of the finest works, Dheu Ase Dheu Jai.

Sil has finalised a cast of Abir Chatterjee, Rahul Banerjee, Parno Mittra, Anirban Bhattacharya and Bangladeshi actors Arifin Shuvo, Nusrat Imroze Tisha and Qazi Nawshaba Ahmed for the film. Most of the shooting of the film will take place in Kolkata, Shantiniketan, Dhaka, Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar.

The story of Balighawr focuses on the reunion of friends and broken relationships. While Abir plays a promoter obsessed with brands, Mittra plays his wife. Rahul, who has been paired with Nawshaba, is reportedly going portray a professor at the Dhaka University.
Anirban and Tisha will essay a couple, caught in a trouble invited by themselves and Shuvo will feature as the only unmarried character.

A get-together planned by the entire group, once classmates in Shantiniketan, for the first time in 12 years at Cox’s Bazar reportedly forms the crux of the story.

The music and the background score of the film will be jointly composed by maestro Bickram Ghosh and Chirkutt from Bangladesh.
