Farhan Akhtar has sung in Telugu for the first time. It is for Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu’s film Bharat Ane Nenu, and the song is titled 'I Don’t Know'.
Not so long ago, Mahesh Babu had lent his voice for Akhtar’s MARD (Men Against Rape and Discrimination), his social initiative for the safety of women.
The news was announced by Akhtar’s publicist in a statement saying, "Farhan Akhtar crooned a song titled 'I Don't Know' for superstar Mahesh Babu's upcoming film Bharat Ane Nenu. Marking their second association, earlier Mahesh Babu had lent his voice for Farhan Akhtar's MARD initiative."
Earlier in the day, Mahesh Babu shared a video on his official Instagram page. The video has Akhtar speaking in Telugu about his first song in the language for Bharat Ane Nenu.
The superstar welcomed Akhtar to the Telugu industry by captioning the video, "Thank you Farhan Akhtar. Simply loving it! Welcome to the Telugu film industry."
Bharat Ane Nenu is a political thriller directed by Koratala Siva. It also stars Kiara Advani, Prakash Raj, Rama Prabha, R Sarathkumar, Devaraj and Aamani, among others.
Akhtar had last sung in the film Rock On 2 (2016), where he also played the main lead.
