Ranveer Singh recently shot an important sequence for Gully Boy at Mumbai’s iconic Churchgate railway station. The shoot was undertaken on a Sunday with not many people present at the station aware of it.

As per a report in a leading daily, the scene required Singh’s character to board a local train. Around 50 to 60 junior artistes were present around Singh at the station, who played co-passengers in the train. The actor was also surrounded by a number of security personnel. The shoot went on for about a couple of hours and was wrapped up by around 5.45pm.

With many offices and educational institutions in south Mumbai, Churchgate railway station hosts thousands of travellers each day. Keeping this fact in mind, the makers of the film chose to shoot on a Sunday to avoid the usual rush.

The film, also starring Alia Bhatt, is based on the life of rappers from Mumbai’s chawls and shanties. It will mainly focus on the lives of Divine and Naezy.

Gully Boy is being directed by Zoya Akhtar. This is Singh's second collaboration with Akhtar after Dil Dhadakne Do (2015).

Gully Boy is scheduled to be released on 14 February next year.
