Box office: Rani Mukerji's Hichki off to a stuttering start, Sajjan Singh Rangroot does well

The Yash Raj Films project bagged Rs3.25 crore nett on its first day, while Diljit Dosanjh's Punjabi film Sajjan Singh Rangroot bagged a fairly good Rs1.25 crore nett.

Actress Rani Mukerji's return to the big screen after a gap of four years had a decent buzz going for her film, Hichki. The film is off to a stuttering start, bagging Rs3.25 crore nett on its opening day, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com.

The Yash Raj Films project, though, got a limited release. Made at an estimated budget of Rs20 crore, Hichki has been released in about 960 screens in India.

The other notable film is Punjabi film Sajjan Singh Rangroot, starring Punjabi superstar Diljit Singh Dosanjh. The film had a good opening of Rs1.25 crore nett on its opening day. The numbers are fairly impressive for a regional film as Sajjan Singh Rangroot had been released in 400 screens in India.

Last week's release Raid had a decent collection on it’s eight day, bagging around Rs3.25-3.50 crore nett. The Ajay Devgn film has so far collected Rs63.85 crore nett in domestic business.
