Pyarelal, one of India's most loved music composers from the Laxmikant-Pyarelal duo, is an ardent devotee of the saint, Sai Baba. The 77-year-old music composer is also a regular viewer of the TV show Mere Sai, which airs on Sony Entertainment Television.
Impressed by the narration in the show, Pyarelal got in touch with the makers and expressed his wish to compose a song for the show. The makers were only too happy to have the veteran music director on board.
Interestingly, Laxmikant-Pyarelal had composed the song 'Shirdi Wale Sai Baba' for Amar Akbar Anthony (1977) over 40 years ago.
After composing a song for Mere Sai, Pyarelal also expressed his wish to visit the sets whenever his song is being filmed and meet with the actors.
Last week, Pyarelal was invited to the sets of the show where he mingled with the cast and crew.
Abeer Soofi, who plays the role of Sai Baba, was thrilled to meet Pyarelal.
"It was a momentous occasion on the sets when Pyarelalji visited us. I was humbled in the presence of the notable music composer. The entire team of Mere Sai is grateful that a noted celebrity like Pyarelalji has composed a song for our show. We conducted a short tour of the sets for our esteemed guest which overwhelmed him and he was moved to tears. All of us felt lucky to have spent few moments with the renowned personality who is also a devotee of Sai Baba. Pyarelalji also appreciated the show’s narrative and our acting skills which gladdened our hearts," Soofi said.
Pyarelal had last composed (as Laxmikant-Pyarelal) for the 2004 film, Meri Biwi Ka Jawaab Nahin, starring Akshay Kumar and Sridevi.
