The earnings of Veere Di Wedding slowed down during its first week, but the film has still managed to earn Rs52.75 crore nett, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com

Made at an estimated budget of Rs45 crore, the film, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker, Sonam K Ahuja and Shikha Talsania, released in more than 2,000 screens in India.

Veere Di Wedding is the third female-centred film in 2018 to fare well at the box office. Even though Rani Mukerji’s Hichki had a limited release (975 screens), the film earned close to Rs50 crore nett. Then came Alia Bhatt’s Raazi, which has amassed a whopping Rs120 crore nett so far, from just 1,200 screens.

Meanwhile, John Abraham’s Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran, too has crossed Rs50 crore nett in its second week. The number may not sound great but given that the film was locked in a long legal battle before it was released, the figure is not so bad. According to trade analyst Atul Mohan, Parmanu has collected Rs51.83 crore nett so far.

“#Parmanu yesterday was Rs1.28 cr. Week 2: Rs16.42 cr. Two weeks total: Rs51.83 cr," tweeted Mohan.

Zee Sutdios, that co-produced Parmanu with JA Entertainment and Kyta Productions is satisfied with the film’s performance.

Sujay Kutty, business head at Zee Studios said in a statement, “Parmanu's success at the BO goes to show that good content always resonates with audiences. We at Zee Studios had complete faith in the film and John’s ability to pull it through despite all odds. Heartiest congratulations to John, Abhishek and the entire team for making this film such a huge success."

Made at an estimated budget of Rs45 crore, Parmanu had released in more than 1,800 screens across India. As per trade sources, the film had earlier recovered Rs20 crore through the sale of satellite, digtial and music rights.
