The much talked about television premier of Aditya Sarpotdar’s successful Faster Fene happened on Sunday.
On Sunday morning, before the telecast, Amey Wagh, who plays the titular character, indirectly hinted on Facebook that a sequel might be in the offing. Sarpotdar’s comment on his status update added to the possibility.
To get a clearer picture, we spoke with Sarpotdar who revealed that they wish to make the second part of the series, but need some time to announce it officially.
“We intend to make the sequel. Writer Kshitij Patwardhan and I are currently working on the basic storyline. The script is not ready yet. Both of us are currently working on Mauli (2018) and will be busy on it till January. So, we won’t be able to focus on the second part of Faster Fene currently. But we surely wish to make it,” said the director.
Wagh's message on Facebook, translates to, “Dear Banesh (his character in the film), I miss you a lot. Your memories will return after I watch you on TV today. I am waiting to wear that red coloured checks shirt and get onto my bicycle in search of another story. I am waiting to become ‘FaFe’ yet again because it is easy to return but important to move ahead. Tokk!”
To this, Sarpotdar wrote, which translates to, “Now only move ahead.. FaFe will be back... soon.”
In the same post, Wagh had tagged Parna Pethe, who played the female lead in Faster Fene. This indicates that she will also be a part of the sequel.
Faster Fene was the story of a young detective who tries solving a case and gets entangled in a web of serious crime. The character was based on the one created by the late author Bhaskar Ramachandra Bhagwat.
