Filmmaker Raj Chakraborty is all set to start shooting for his upcoming adventure film, Adventures of Jojo. The film will introduce child artiste Joshojit Banerjee as the protagonist.

Chakraborty earlier announced his rom-com Katmundu 2 and Tong Ling this year. However, keeping both the projects on hold, Chakrborty is eager to explore the world of Jojo.

In the film, Jojo’s parents leave him at his paternal uncle’s house at Boropahari, while they take Jojo’s grandmother for treatment out of the city. In Boropahari, Jojo’s cousins are extremely studious and they put forth difficult mathematics questions for him. Jojo travels to the forest to escape from them and fancies Mowgli and Tarzan’s sudden appearances.

Eventually Jojo becomes friendly with an elephant called Nanibala and Shibu, the son of the mahout. One day he comes across a decomposed body of a tiger in the middle of the forest and senses the presence of poachers. Both Jojo and Shibu share their suspicion with the officer of the forest department; however, the latter hardly pays heed to the kids.

Meanwhile, poacher Munia Hazari is after Chengis, the most ferocious tiger of the forest. Will Jojo be able to save the king of the jungle from the clutches of Munia Hazari?

While Rudranil Ghosh will reportedly play the role of the villain in the film, Sahaj Paather Gappo Colour Of Innocence-famed Samiul Alam essay the role of Shibu.

Regarding Joshojit's casting Chakrabory told The Times Of India, “I had called him for Tong Ling and I regularly follow his activities on Facebook. His face is very interesting and is perfect for my character.”

Chakraborty also claimed that the film will primarily address the issue of tiger poaching. “There are fantasy elements too. An elephant, Notobor, keeps surfacing in Jojo’s drawings. When he is faced with a crisis in the jungle, it’s Notobor who comes to his rescue,” said the director in the interview.

Most of the film will be shot in Arunachal Pradesh. Jojo will hit the screens during Christmas this year.
