Looks like S Lakshman, the producer of actor Karthi's upcoming film Dev, is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that his film scores high on grandeur. The project is being helmed by first-time director Rajath Ravishankar.
According to sources, the producer is investing anywhere between Rs50 to Rs55 crore in the project.
"Dev will involve a lot of travelling as the crew is shooting the film in a number of places including Chennai, Hyderabad, the Himalayas, Europe and the United States of America. Already, the unit has shot a considerable portion of the film in Chennai and Hyderabad. The film is an out-and-out action flick laced with adventure. It will also have a generous dose of comedy," said a source.
The film, also starring Rakul Preet Singh, Prakash Raj and Ramya Krishnan, will have some 'edge-of-the-seat' action sequences, shot in various locations.
"The first leg of shooting was held in Chennai. The entire crew then flew to Hyderabad, where some breathtaking action sequences, especially a huge car chase sequence and a song were shot over a 10-day period. Now, the crew will next fly to the Himalayan region to shoot some of the edge-of-the-seat action sequences and from there to Europe. Apart from this, the film will be shot in exquisite locations in the USA as well. Producer S Lakshman is particular about the fact that the grandeur factor isn't compromised in any manner in his film. The cost of making this film is estimated to be around Rs 55 crore at this point," added the source.
While Dev's cinematography is handled by filmmaker Velraj, music will be composed by Harris Jayaraj.
