Actress Chitrangada Singh has turned producer with Soorma, based on the life of former Indian hockey player Sandeep Singh. The film features Diljit Dosanjh in the role of Sandeep Singh, along with Taapsee Pannu and Angad Bedi.
Chitrangada found her new job as producer vastly different from that of being an actress.
Calling film production a different ball game altogether, she said, "I think one should produce one film to realize that how easy and simple it is to come and sit inside the set and vanity van as an actor. Once you come before the vanity van arrives and wait, I think that's when you realize just how much you need to believe in what you are doing, how much perseverance should be there. It's been an amazing journey that we all have been in it together. You cant even come close to this. Production is a different ball game altogether." She was speaking at the trailer launch of Soorma yesterday.
Despite being around in the industry for nearly two deacdes, Chitrangada has done few films. Her last full fledged role was in I, Me Aur Main (2013). As an actress, Chitrangada will next be seen in Saif Ali Khan-starrer Baazaar.
Soorma will be released on 13 July.
