Actor Kamal Haasan might have changed his career to that of a politician, but he can still pack a punch. The trailer of Vishwaroopam 2 captures the actor throwing some serious hits as he tackles terrorists and rocket grenades. The film, written and directed by Haasan, is set to be released on 10 August.
The trailer begins with the curious case of sending Nasser to school, and Jalal to college. While the real owners of the two names are not revealed, the trailer points to the continuation of the battle between Haasan's RAW agent, Wisam Ahmed, and Bose's Al Qaeda operative, Omar Qureshi. The two resume their battle from the first film, with the ante upped by several degrees.
The trailer also marks a return of several characters from the first film. Andreah Jeremiah's Ashmita Subramaniam, and Shekhar Kapur's Colonel Jagannath are the two other characters with key parts. Veteran actress Waheeda Rehman also makes an appearance in what looks like a emotional scene with Haasan.
The trailer is packed with a lot of action, including an underwater fight between Haasan and another terrorist. The writer-director seems to have spared no effort in packing more thrills into the film. However, the trailer reveals very little about the plot or the story of the film. The only indication lies perhaps in the opening dialogue by Haasan, which reads 'It is not wrong to be a Muslim. But to be a man like you is a sin.'
Vishwaroopam 2 will be released in Tamil and Hindi, with a dubbed version in Telugu. The trailer was released by Aamir Khan today. Writing on his Twitter page, Khan said, 'Dear Kamal Sir, congratulations to you and to the entire team of Vishwaroopam 2 ! Wishing you all the very best. Love and respect always. Aamir.'
After having been delayed for almost a year, the film will be released on 10 August.
