Actor-producer John Abraham's Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran earned Rs34.50 crore nett in its first week at the domestic box office, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com. The number, though not great, is not bad for a film lead by John Abraham.

Made at an estimated budget of Rs45 crore, Parmanu released in more than 1,800 screens in India. The film had a low opening weekend, bagging Rs20 crore nett, but it picked up pace over the week.

Compared to John's last solo Force 2, Parmanu has fared better. Force 2 (2016) had earned a total of Rs31.92 crore nett even thoug it released in 2,250 screens.

Parmanu is said to have already recovered Rs20-25 crore through the sale of satellite, digital, music and overseas rights.

Meanwhile, Meghna Gulzar's Raazi, starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, made Rs18 crore nett in its third week. The film has so far earned Rs108.54 crore nett. Raaz is made at an estimated budget of Rs40 crore and was released across 1,200 screens in India.

Two prominent films released today (1 June) — Shashanka Ghosh's Veere Di Wedding, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam K Ahuja, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania; and Vikramditya Motwane's Bhavesh Joshi Superhero, starring Harshvardhan Kapoor. Thus, both Raazi and Parmanu will face some tough competion from here on.
