Actress Priyanka Chopra has notched many firsts in her career since she made the move from India to Hollywood in 2015 with ABC's Quantico. She became the first South Asian actress to headline her own show on network television.

Now, Chopra added another milestone as she gained 25 million followers on Instagram. She is the first Indian celebrity to reach this landmark number beating out fellow actresses Deepika Padukone (24.9 million) and Alia Bhatt (22.7 million). Crikecter Virat Kohli also has the same number of followers as Bhatt.

However, Chopra has a long way to go to become the most followed celebrity on Instagram. That honour belongs to actress-singer Selena Gomez who has a whopping 135.4 million followers on Instagram. Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo comes in second with 123.3 followers, while actress-singer Ariana Grande is third with 118.3 followers.

The photo-video networking service currently has one billion monthly active users, out of which only 4% are from India. The most active users of the mobile app are found in Sweden with 47% of the users orginating from there.

When Chopra first headed out to Hollywood in 2015, she had 15 million followers on Instagram. The ensuing years have brought her an impressive number of 10 million new followers.

On Twitter, Chopra is nearing her Instagram numbers with 23 million followers and surpasses Instagram with 37.3 million likes on her Facebook page, taking her total social media followers to a whopping 85.3 million.
