Bangladeshi star Shakib Khan will again be seen essaying a double role in the upcoming film Naqaab.

Directed by Rajiv Biswas, the horror thriller is a remake of the Suriya-starrer Tamil film Massu Engira Masilamani (2015).

Khan will be seen as both the protagonist Mass and his deceased father Shakti, who returns as a ghost.

Nusrat Jahan plays Mass's love interest Disha while Sayantika Banerjee essays the role of Shakti’s wife and Mass’s mother Anuradha.

The trailer promises an action-packed film with multiple twists, romance and comedy. But the return of the ghost does not offer spine-chilling moments. Instead, in the trailer at least, it comes across as unintentionally funny.

Mass and his pal, played by Rudranil Ghosh, are con artists. After a near-fatal accident, Mass begins to communicate with ghosts and gets their help in his missions. That is, until he comes across his deceased father Shakti, who turns his life upside down.

A sadhu then tells Mass that if he does not fulfil the unfulfilled desires of the ghosts, he will not be able to escape from their clutches.

Khan was recently seen playing a double role in Bhaijaan Elo Re (2018).

Naqaab also features Kharaj Mukherjee, Bharat Kaul, Ashish Vidyarthi and Rajatabha Dutta in important roles. The music has been composed by Dev Sen.

The film is slated for release on 24 August. Watch the trailer below and tell us what you think of the film's box-office prospects.
