Taapsee Pannu clears the air on absence from Soorma promotions

When an actor does not turn up for the promotions of their film, it often leads to speculation if all is right between the actor and the production. Taapsee Pannu and Diljit Dosanh’s Soorma (2018) is set to be released on 13 July. While Dosanjh, who plays former hockey player Sandeep Singh, has been promoting the film by giving interviews, Pannu has been inconspicuous by her absence. She plays the role of Harjinder Singh.
Pannu has cleared the air that she has been shooting for her next, Shoojit Sircar's Badla, in Scotland and so, missing from Soorma promotions.
"I am very attached to my films and I feel responsible for them. Promotion is also a part of the entire process of film release and I want to be there for my films in whichever way possible. Since I couldn’t be there physically present for Soorma I am trying to do whatever possible from here in Scotland through my social media," Pannu said in a statement.
Soorma was earlier slated to be released on 25 May, but the film was then postponed to 13 July. The actress's packed schedule in June did not allow her to promote Soorma. Pannu was present during the trailer launch.
Pannu’s career took a new turn after the success of Pink (2016). She bagged her maiden lead role in Naam Shabana (2017), produced by Neeraj Pandey. She will be seen in Anubhav Sinha’s Mulk in August.
