Veteran Bengali actor Chinmoy Roy falls from 4th floor, suffers serious injuries


The actor has reportedly suffered injuries to his head, arms and legs, and is said to be in a critical condition.

Veretan Bengali actor Chinmoy Roy fell from the fourth floor of his apartment in South Kolkata on Saturday (30 June) evening. The actor, 78, has suffered serious injuries and has been admitted at a private nursing home near EM Bypass in Kolkata.

The cause of the fall has not been ascertained yet. The actor has reportedly suffered injuries to his head, arms and legs, and is said to be in a critical condition.

Roy is best known for his comic acts and his rendition of fictional character Tenida on-screen. Some of his most popular films are Dhanyi Meye (1971), Basanta Bilap (1973), Galpa Holeo Satti (1966), Sriman Prithviraj (1973), Swayamsiddha (1975), Upalabdhi (1981) and Narak Guljar (2009).
